Evaluation of the Demographic and Clinical Characteristics of Patients Followed up a Tertiary Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

Objective: To evaluate the demographic and clinical characteristics of patients that presented to our pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) between January 1, 2016 December 31, 2018 were followed up for at least 24 hours.
 Materials Methods: In this study, 876 admission files who PICU 01, examined. The data 751 admissions belonging 640 with complete archive records patient information forms included in study.
 Results: Forty-three percent female, 32.4% total referrals from different hospitals city or region advanced care. Although all cases requiring care, internal surgical, hospitalized, most common reason was infectious diseases. Parameters individually associated mortality presence chronic disease, need mechanical ventilation, blood products, inotropic support, renal replacement therapy. None due poisoning airway obstruction died. highest rate seen hematological-oncological group, including end-stage cases.
 Conclusion: Our provides an important health service critically ill children. rates within values reported Turkey. obtain better outcomes, it is necessary strengthen medical staff clinic develop palliative centers region.
